Custom applications

Anonymous statistical data about locations, movement and flow of people can be used in many spheres of life. Positium has developed a number of applications focused on specific users of the data. In many spheres we see a bigger need for hybrid applications that use different types of data and are custom made to meet the specific requirements of users. Mobile operators themselves are interested in different analyses of subscribers mainly for marketing and network development purposes. Positium Data Mediator has the possibility to provide result data for a number of different applications and at Positium we are able to develop customized applications to meet the needs of our customers.

Some examples:
Ring24 – Social experiment of Positium employees location in real time via EMT MPS with history (application-level limit to 1 week but we have stored our location from 2006 for testing purposes)

First Location Bank – New location management platform, whose core functions have already been developed with funding from the EU Galileo Supervisory Authority for Android and Windows. Within a secure environment the FLB app passively aggregates, tags and encrypts location from smartphone sensors and allows the user to manage the power consumed by the process. The app forwards the encrypted location and power usage information to the FLB secure server to be stored, structured and quality assured, from where the user’s location account can be browsed through a web-based dashboard. To respect user concerns about privacy each downloaded app will only install and run for the one issued username, the data is encrypted on the device/ in transit to the server, and the service will run pseudanonimously with just an email address needed to set up an account. By March 2011 the users of the service had recorded 2 million GPS and WiFi points and details of 3.5 million cell locations.
